Directions.
The Yat is situated down a single track road about mid-way between Hay-on-Wye, Builth Wells and Llandrindod Wells.
Driving from Hereford (approx. 30 miles distant). Take the A438 towards Kington, turning off at the junction where the road is signposted for Winforton and Willersley. The next turn off after Winforton is a right turn onto a single track road, signposted Michaelchurch-on-Arrow. Pass through Michaelchurch and Newchurch, where there is a sign for Glascwm at the cross roads, approximately 4 miles from Glascwm. At the next crossroads there is a left turn where Glascwm is marked as 1 1/2 miles distant. Drive through the main part of the hamlet and The Yat, the white house with a red wrought iron gate, is opposite the church. From Builth Wells or Llandrindod Wells (approx. 10 miles distant). Take the road to Hundred House, where Glascwm is marked as 4 miles distant. From Hay-on-Wye (approx. 10 miles distant). The road takes one along the B4594 through Clyro and Newchurch (12 miles) or towards Painscastle and then Bryngwyn (10 miles) and from then down an unclassified road to Glascwm. |
