The local countryside is a haven for walkers, bird watchers and riders.
Walking. Our house stands on the edge of the common, where you can walk for miles enjoying the wonderful views whilst your only companions will be sheep, wild horses and wild birds. Offa's Dyke path is five miles distant, since this is border country. There are also many hamlets with beautiful ancient churches, such as Rhulen, Cregrina, Colva and Aberedw. Celtic stone circles, mote and bailey castle remains are all within walking distance across unspoilt hills and countryside.
Cyclists and Horse riders. It is also good terrain for the adventurous and Bryngwyn Riding Centre is nearby (4.4mi, 11mins). Birdwatchers. Over 50 different varieties of birds have been spotted in our valley, including goshawks, treecreepers, owls, buzzards, red kites, herons and cukoos. Fishing and Watersports. Activities such as canoeing, kayaking, sailing and diving can be found locally on the River Wye, Llangorse lake (29.4mi, 55mins) and there is Scuba First at Brecon (23.8mi,47mins). Golf.
