The Yat is a small Boutique style Bed and Breakfast. This ancient historic house, dating from the 15th Century, nestles in an unspoilt valley, down a single track road, in the tiny hamlet of Glascwm. The house itself has been lovingly resored by artist Krystyna Zaremba and her husband Derek Pike. Krystyna has tried to create a place which is a complete rural retreat, where guests can recharge their batteries in this welcoming home, amidst the beautiful countryside, to return to their busy city lives feeling regenerated and rested. Within the house they have retained original features which give character and personality to the house and yet have made it comfortable for modern day living. There are oak beams, wattle and daub walls, rooms painted with lime wash but also underfloor heating under the flag stone floors and solar panels heat the spring water which runs on tap. Hand stitched curtains, and stripped wooden floors with hand knotted rugs adorn the rooms. Our terraced garden, with its ancient box hedges, terraced lawns and flower gardens, is available for guests to enjoy! The surrounding hills are a wonderful place for long carefree walks with rarely any people and mostly sheep and sometimes wild horses, for company! Bring your cameras and paints. We have easels for guests to use.
A very special and rare place of peace, tranquility and beauty.
